An Airline Was Born

In 1984, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, then UAE Minister of Defense and a member of the progressive royal family of Dubai, asked Sir Maurice Flanagan, then managing director of dnata, to consider the creation of an airline.

By December of that year, a comprehensive business plan was ready, and the name” Emirates ” was chosen for the new airline. Emirates Career | Emirates Jobs

A Clear Mission

In March 1985, Maurice Flanagan was assigned an ambitious task to launch an airline in 5 months with an initial funding of 10 million dollars. He was told that the airline should “look good, be good, make money”. There will be no air support or protection under Dubai’s Open Skies policy.

Who are we looking for

In order to be considered for Emirates flight crew, you must be:

Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage)
A natural team player with a personality that shines
Height of at least 160 cm and capable of reaching a height of 212 cm
Able to meet the requirements of a work visa in the United Arab Emirates

And you have:

At least 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience
Minimum secondary education (Grade 12)
No tattoos visible while wearing Emirates flight crew uniform

The 7-step flight crew training process

Our new recruits undergo seven and a half weeks of intensive training on the highest standards of safety and service delivery at our state-of-the-art facility in Dubai. Learn more about the training trip.

Induction

The introduction week will provide information to help and support you as you move to your new environment, within Dubai and throughout the internship.

Safety and Emergency Procedures

Safety and emergency procedures training will provide you with the skills and knowledge to ensure that our aircraft and passengers remain safe at all times. The training includes aircraft equipment, fire fighting, in-flight emergencies and evacuation. Emirates Career | Emirates Jobs

GMT

Group medical training will equip you to be able to confidently manage any medical incident on board the aircraft. You will cover topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bleeding, burns, emergency childbirth and a variety of medical conditions.

Security

The security training will provide you with guidance, skills and techniques to prevent and manage acts of illegal interference, such as unruly behavior, kidnapping and vandalism, as well as address personal security concerns.

Wages and Benefits

Starting salary and flying payment:

Basic salary: 4430 AED per month
Flight price: AED 63.75 (based on average. 80-100 hours / month)
Average gross salary: AED 10,170 / month

Stopover expenses

Travel on favorable terms

Employee travel benefits on Emirates can be availed according to the Employee Travel Guide. Employee travel benefits can be availed on other airlines as per the agreements / policies between the airlines.

Accommodation

Furnished accommodation is provided free of charge, including utilities-water and electricity. TV, internet and phone bills are not included. There are more than 50 buildings in different locations all over Dubai that you can put them in. Two/three classmates (same sex) share a two / three bedroom apartment and each have their own bedroom but share the kitchen and living area. Two people may have to share a second bathroom in some three-bedroom apartments.

Transportation

Transportation is provided by the company from / to work and from / to the training college.

Uniforms

Provided by the company free of charge, incl. Dry cleaning at designated outlets in Dubai.

Vacation and travel leave

30 calendar days off per year. One free annual vacation ticket to your country of origin is provided. The ticket can be changed to any eco-Kroon destination after 3 years of Service.
