The Senior Fullstack Engineer works under the supervision of an engineering/product manager. They know Fullstack engineering principles and best practices and can use design patterns and the latest technologies to develop solutions. They can troubleshoot technical issues, conduct application testing, and perform DevOps tasks. The role also requires strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. The Senior Fullstack Engineer is responsible for implementing engineering solutions and selecting technologies for software systems and applications in the Royal Caribbean product portfolios.
They work closely with cross-team members to deliver solution components for projects. They provide solution options for review and approval and create technical designs in line with software engineering practices. They also document solution decisions for all affected applications.

- Lead the process of creating strong, scalable, and efficient web applications, handling both the visual and functional elements of the website or application.
- Architecture and Design: Work together with teams from various departments, such as product managers and designers, to develop technological solutions that are in line with the company’s goals. Assist in shaping and improving the structure of the application, making choices regarding design, and guaranteeing that it can grow and be easily maintained.
- Front-end development involves the creation of user interfaces using contemporary web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and libraries. The aim is to guarantee a user-friendly and adaptable experience on various devices.
- Backend Development entails creating and enhancing server-side components and APIs through the utilization of programming languages like Java, JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), or Python. It involves implementing database schemas, enhancing queries for optimum performance, and ensuring the security and integrity of data.
- Test Automation involves creating and implementing automated tests for both the front-end and back-end code. It also includes conducting comprehensive code reviews and performing thorough testing to ensure that the application is of high quality and reliability.
- Performance Optimization involves the identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks, enhancing the scalability of applications, and optimizing overall application performance.
- Technical leadership involves providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers, offering expertise and assistance in technical matters, and actively participating in the enhancement of development processes and the establishment of best practices.
- Cooperation: Engage in team collaboration, alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, within an Agile/Scrum development setup to provide software solutions of superior quality.
- Ensure the implementation of secure systems and achieve compliance with all security and regulatory requirements and goals set by the corporation.
