POSITION: Personal Support Worker

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Care, the Personal Support Worker contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively providing care to residents as directed by the registered staff in charge.
REPORTS TO: Director of Care
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $23.54 to $24.12 per hour (All PSW employees will receive an additional $3.00 per hour which is the current Personal Support Worker Wage Enhancement provided by the Provincial Government)

QUALIFICATIONS: Full-time Personal Support Worker in Ontario
- A preference exists for candidates with a Personal Support Worker certificate, or those currently participating in a recognized PSW or nursing educational course and fulfilling the hands-on training components of that course.
- Experience preferred with working with at-risk individuals in a setting designed for extended care.
- Having training in the Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) is a valuable asset.
- Should have the ability to fulfill the job’s physical requirements and use proper body movement techniques.
- Outstanding ability to interact with others, along with the readiness and capability to contribute as a collaborative and productive member of a group.
- Responsibilities
- Preferably, candidates should have accumulated at least two years of practical experience in a long-term care setting.
